MORE INFORMATION
We
need complete glasses or metal frames. We sort them, take them to
the Lions Eyeglass recycling center in Roanoke. We go up
there twice a year if anyone, Lion or not, would like to go.
At Roanoke, the glasses are cleaned and the prescription is read.
Metal frames are sold as recycled metal to pay for the operation
of the center. From Roanoke, the glasses are made available, for
the price of the shipping, to teams to distribute. Glasses go
world-wide, although most are Central and South America, and
Eastern Europe. To learn more, visit the Recycling Center
web site below.
